Colorado get-aways

About three hours west of Denver on I-70, Glenwood Springs has the ultimate hot springs pool. www.hotspringspool.com. It's a great resort town. Check with Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association plus

The top place to stay in Glenwood is the historic Hotel Colorado, dating back to Teddy Roosevelt fame. Try http://www.hotelcolorado.com/ .

Up the road from Glenwood is the pleasant town of Redstone. http://www.redstonecolorado.com/. For an anniversary, I'd recommend the Redstone Inn.

A little further is Marble, where there's a quarry and the often-photographed mill along side the Crystal River. Note http://www.marblecolorado.org/ . A couple of years ago, we had a nice stay at the Ute Meadows Inn Bed & Breakfast, located a few miles west of Marble, 7 rooms, opened in the summer of 1998. Rates are $95 to $125. 970-963-7088.
